We think worry about your own habits is reason enough to ring; you do not need to be certain there is a problem.
What we do, and what the casino does
We are an independent information site that explains how limits, cooling-off periods and exclusion work in general. Your account sits with the casino, so limits and exclusions are applied there. Limit-setting features, including deposit limits, belong to the casino, and a request to apply or change one goes to the casino’s own support.
Self-exclusion means stopping your own access to casinos and online gaming sites. Its reach differs by place: a provincial self-exclusion in Canada covers only that province’s own operation, while Ontario runs a central scheme covering every operator on its registered list. Accounts with offshore brands work per brand, so excluding on one site may leave sister sites open. Bank-level gambling blocks and device filters are the measures that apply everywhere at once. In Ontario, lowering or removing a limit needs a cooling-off period of at least 24 hours.
Warning signs worth taking seriously
Money and time
Spending more than the budget you set, borrowing to play, or topping up again straight after a loss are early signals. So is a session that keeps running long after you meant to stop, or play that crowds out sleep, work and family time.
Mood and behaviour
Feeling restless or irritable when you cannot play, hiding how much you gamble, or chasing losses in the hope of getting even all point the same way. If winning has stopped being the point and the urge to continue has taken over, step back.
Safer-play tips
Set the rules before you start
Set a budget for each session and stick to it. Decide the amount first, treat it as the price of the entertainment, and leave when it is gone. Do not chase losses, because the next round does not repay the last one.
Use the tools that remove temptation
A deposit limit decides in advance how much can go in. If you want a longer break, use exclusion, and add bank-level gambling blocks or a device filter so the break holds across every site. In our view breaks during play matter, so take them, keep alcohol away from the session, and talk to someone you trust if the thought of stopping feels hard.
